The black hole in the sky keeps on devouring, but your loyal alien overlords on the third planet keep transmitting.
Hi, I’m Wile E. Young, bringing you the ever-present cosmic truth, and this week… the truth hurts.
Some of you may have noticed the controversy this week. For those who haven’t, just go prowl the horror writing circles on social media and it’s bound to come up. It’s been hard seeing the fall from grace of someone you admired. When told that his comments were hurtful, he doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down. It hurts because this individual was always kind to me, but I cannot condone the hate that he’s shown. And unfortunately, it probably won’t be the last controversy that hits our genre. I’m tired of seeing it happen, but the bad apples must be plucked, and in this case, there was no doubt of intentions.
To boil it down, it’s sad to see a respected career and legacy thrown away.
In the words of Thulsa Doom:
Work continues on pretty much the same projects across the board. I received the final reviews of For A Few Souls More, I’m going to try to see that done before the end of this week.
I got see a work up of the cover for The Southern Gentleman’s Guide to Murder and Persuasion. I also worked on the edits for a few more of the stories it will contain.
All in all, a slow week, but that just means I get to focus on the nitty gritty bits of writing that are the most fun.
In honor of the imminent release of its sequel, this week’s promotion is The Magpie Coffin.
